TEAM NiSCA offers UV Printing Capabilities to the PR5300 ID Card Printer.
The most common security features on today’s ID Cards are custom and generic holographic over-laminates, pre-printed micro- or nano-text on cards, and embedded holographic images on the card surfaces. Experts in security printing all agree that the more security features that are in a document, the less likely that document will be counterfeited. In an ideal situation, every ID Card printed would have at lease three security features.
In an effort to increase the security of ID Cards, NiSCA now offers Ultra Violet (UV) ink printing in the PR5300 ID Card Printer. The inks are only viewable under UV or black lights and can be applied in a few different ways to offer customers integrated options of added security.
One option allows for the integration of variable text data to be “uploaded” to the driver and printed on the card. Common examples of variable text data are date of issuance, location of issuance, card issuance number, printer serial number, or employee number. Another option allows the UV inks to print static text data or image data that can be placed on the card in any printable location.
The new UV security printing feature from NiSCA now allows large organizations the ability to add an additional security feature to their cards. Smaller organizations (less than 10,000 employees) usually find custom holographic images or pre-printed cards out of reach due to large minimum order requirements, but the UV ink printing offers a more attainable – and still secure – feature to decrease the susceptibility of cards to counterfeiting.
This new feature is available in new and existing PR5300 printers (firmware 4.3 and higher support UV printing). The latest version of the firmware, printer drivers, instructions, and download utility are available at www.teamnisca.com free of charge. NiSCA Genuine UV ink ribbons are available now and can be purchased through the normal Team NiSCA sales channel.
