Asian Country Selects NiSCA for Drivers Licenses
October 24, 2002, Somerset NJ
TEAMNiSCA’s PR5100 printers begin to print driver licenses for an Asian country. After seven years of evaluations, testing, and price negotiations, this Asian country begins to produce the most secure driver's licenses the county has ever developed.
Using the almost 100 NiSCA PR5100 printers and laminators (heat rollers) and thousands of rolls of customized holographic material, this country begins to produce driver's licenses for its 20 million drivers. “This project is a great success and shows the strength and reliability of the NiSCA printer products,” says Rob Miskelly, TEAMNiSCA’s business manager.
The laminate material was the most complicated piece of material ever produced by TEAM NiSCA and its partners. The material was developed over many years and the result is extremely difficult, if not impossible to duplicate. The material has over five different types of security features. Obviously, we will not disclose exactly which features are included, but we can say that the material includes optical variable Inks such as invisible UV fluorescent inks, dual UV fluorescent inks, color shifting inks, and energy converting inks; as well as optical variable devices such as micro printing, embedded hologram, hidden images, and image morphing.
